Ohi Älä Käy [ˈohi ˈælæ ˈkæy], translated from Finnish as do not walk past, is a humanitarian non-profit organization, which has worked with indefatigable perseverance in providing aid to poor families, orphanages, and street children shelters in the Baltics since its conception in 2004. The organization was established in Helsinki, Finland, by Lauri Siljoranta. Now in his seventies, Siljoranta continues to assiduously dedicate his time to this important cause. Every Christmas children anxiously wait for the organization’s infamous red van, filled with presents from kind donors in Finland, to drive into the yard of their orphanage. Small faces behind windows light up as they see Santa Claus, or Siljoranta in disguise, step out from the van. While rewarding, these moments remind us of the importance of our efforts and the gravity of continuing to strive to keep this organization alive.

Our team, behind Ohi Älä Käy, comprises of non-paid volunteers only, motivated to help having seen first hand the unfortunate circumstances under which children are brought up.

Please take a moment to explore our website, www.child-aid.net. A donation of any amount will be much appreciated. The charity receives no state funding and relies entirely on donations. If there are other ways you would like to offer your help, please do not hesitate to contact us.
